Sunseeker Predator 50 Review . The new Sunseeker Predator 50 is a hard top sports cruiser. We like hard top yachts as they can be converted at the touch of a button to a convertible yacht thanks to the sliding electric glass roof. In practice soft top vessels with covers such as the Sunseeker Camargue 51 look great and offer open air performance. The reality is somewhat different as covers are time consuming to remove and replace and in the end are mostly left fastened on. Glass cockpit doors however open up the lounge and cockpit to provide a spacious reception area for all. The Sunseeker Predator 50 is a very convenient size for berthing in UK marinas however this is a very tall vessel and space has been added through the additional height. Uk marinas charge by overall length so more space on the same footprint is a great way to go. The Sunseeker Predator is spacious above and below decks with a well laid out engine room and easy access for servicing.
Sunseeker Predator 50 performance. The Sunseeker Predator 50 tested had twin Volvo Penta 600hp fitted which propel the Sunseeker Predator to speeds of up to 33 knots weather and conditions permitting. At this speed the Sunseeker Predator could comfortably cope with significant wave heights of one metre which is good performance for a Sunseeker with a dry displacement of around 20 tonnes. With a fuel capacity of almost 2000 litres the Predator should be good for a cruising range of approximately 180 miles with a 10% fuel reserve. Driving the Sunseeker is easy with the electronic steering system and there is also an optional joystick control.
Sunseeker Predator 50 Summary. We love the Sunseeker Predator 50 with its spacious interior, fine handling and ease of use. A reasonable cruising capacity and the latest marine navigational equipment and fantastic audio visual systems especially the NAIM home theatre system. It is reasonably priced around £950,000 and will make a great family cruiser
